To Edward M.
Clearly you are a pie-in-the-sky kool-aide drinker.
Or perhaps already on the payroll of the Democrooks.
This Crap & Tax bill is a PURELY Marist transfer of wealth program.
If you are so much in favor of it perhaps you will want to pay for me upgrades.
It is the least that you can do.
How's that Hopey / Changey thing working for you?

The goofballs that are charged with running the government are out of their
minds. This will cost a home seller, not thousands, but tens of thousands
of dollars. The appliances alone are thousands. When you start talking
about windows and doors, you are talking tens of thousands. Try getting
a loan today! The banks ripped us off, got a bailout and won't lend
the money. President Obama and the entire congress are a joke. This cap
& trade nonsense will kill the real estate market and put us into a
recession that has never been seen in the good ol USA.

I have some questions in regards to this bill. I do see the complexity in regards to Real Estate (I totally disagree on that part of the bill), but would it bring more jobs? I heard on our local talk radio show that our state would lose jobs) And also I own a condo, so I wonder what happens to buildings like that. I am just trying to learn about all of this.

There was a revised post, keep reading my friend. Maybe it was similar to health care, nobody knows what's in it.

Since this has been completely and utterly debunked by folks on both sides of the aisle, shouldn't you really post a retraction/correction or take the original item down?

Don't worry, Varn, you won't have to pay for some kind of special energy use inspection. This is all ... hot air.

The government is also going to have to hire a serious number of arson investigators. The desperate ones will get insurance policies to cover the replacement cost of their home and then burn it to the ground... after the valuable stuff is removed. Now, they own a sellable home that is up to code and C&T and they are out only the deductible. Don't think that will happen?? Watch.

Mockan is right on the mark. I just came out of a high level meeting with mortgage loan division execs from BOFA, and we were told that after Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, BOFA is the third largest mortgage lender in the US... and that they have been withholding their REO properties from the market since last fall waiting for the market to rebound. We were also told that they are preparing to open the floodgates on their inventory and liquidate it... which should effectively wipe out the second half of 2010's home sales market! Unless of course you are able to sign up with their REO division and somehow start marketing them.

It was indicated to us that they (BOFA) fully expect that the Cap and Trade will drive the housing market into the dirt, as if it is not already there.

With Mid Term Elections and Obama's systematic attack on our country, the rest of 2010 will be a rough ride for the masses, and as it stands now, the Fed fears inflation is on it's way. All it will take is for the banks to start lending, or businesses to start hiring or for consumers to stop saving and start spending again, and we will think the Carter years were mild compared to the kind of numbers we will see. Maybe it's time to get LEED Certified?????

Banks that have foreclosed on homes and have kept them off the market hoping the bubble could be re-inflated are getting their just rewards. This bill will require they retrofit the houses before putting them back on the market, or drop the price to pennies on the dollar just to get rid of them.
They can also of course complain to the federal government and beg for more bail out money, but their continuous crying is not something adults should take seriously anymore. They made their bed, now let them lay in it.
