I saw that line driving to work, and then saw another one in Los Angeles by my office.

I decided to walk along the line and talk to some of the people in line. I’d say maybe 1/8 of the people were what I would call “bargain hunters” – they know it’s not really worth it to stand in line for a $3 meal, but they can’t pass it up. The rest were clearly poor and homeless folks and families that I see around the area.

Basically, Denny’s became a soup kitchen for a day.

Thought about, then figured my hourly rate times the number of hours that would be spent standing in line. Decided to pass on a free breakfast valued at $2.99!
